Usually when I try to photograph cinnamon teal they fly off before I even grab my camera or, at the very least, they break their wonderful pose and swim away, refusing to have their picture taken. Today for some reason a hen cinnamon teal kept her pose and allowed me to photograph her for a few minutes.
The brightly colored drake stayed hidden by the shadows in the background, as usual, wanting nothing doing with the photo session. I don’t photograph cinnamon teal very often. They are an extremely common duck around here but they also are very camera shy so the opportunities just don’t present themselves very often.
