A Frequent Visitor

Sometimes I try to photograph stuff, including birds, which are kind of artsy and creative. Sometimes, however, my photographic efforts are more for documenting something I have never seen before. This post is of the latter.

For the past 4 days a juvenile white faces ibis has come to visit my yard, Not totally out of the ordinary except I know it is the same one each time and he comes alone. How I know it is the same ibis is by the odd white patch below his beak. I have never seen an ibis, even a juvenile ibis, with such a patch of feathers.

It is quite interesting and it makes me wonder if this is a normal occurrence and I have just never seen it before or if this is an oddity in nature. Well, either way I have enjoyed this young ibis each afternoon, parading up and down the irrigation ditch in search of his next meal before he has to take off for his long journey southward for the upcoming winter season.
